Safety and Compliance Manager

General Description (Short summary of essential job functions)This position will assist Human Resources and Legal with the company-wide compliance, safety, and training programs.
Key job duties include, but are not limited to:
Plans and organizes training programs in compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and other federal and state laws, regulations, and rules.
Builds and updates the safety onboarding workflow for commercial drivers, runs background checks, maintains driver qualification files, manages drug test program, annual check for MVR and Clearing House query, and ensure each step is in compliance with DOT and FMCSA.
Through gap assessment, develops training programs for new hires, drivers, technicians/mechanics, warehouse, and so on.
Evaluates training programs' effectiveness and efficiency, arranges tests as-needed basis, and issues certificates.
Arranges and coordinates safety meetings for the safety committee.
Arranges and attends other meetings related to job duties or overall support of Department operations.
Maintains familiarity with industry laws and regulations.
Maintains accurate records on training, OSHA reports, accident investigation, drug test, drivers, and other compliance and safety-related files.
Regularly visits and inspects facilities for compliance and safety with all OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and rules Job skills and work experience requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough knowledge of transportation industry laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
2 years of compliance, safety, and training experience is preferred.
